How the dates are worked out

We start with the day Michael runs out of medication, then count backwards: the pharmacy needs a day or two to prepare the prescription, the script itself can take a few days to arrive by post, and the surgery needs time to actually book the appointment. That gives us the latest safe day to call or email โ€” with weekends and bank holidays skipped so nothing gets stuck.
